2. Chen Cihong’s Former Residence (陈慈黉故居)

Built since 1871 by wealthy overseas Chinese Chen Cihong, this complex in Chenghai is world-famous. Combining Western and classic Chinese architecture styles, the four residences feature a maze-like layout with corridors and overhead walkways connecting elegant rooms, statues, and exquisite carvings.
