Shiqiao Village (Authentic & Peaceful)
A hidden gem with very few tourists. Explore Shunyulou (built in 1927), which boasts the longest outer diameter (74.1m) of any single-donut Tulou. Also visit Changyuanlou (1723), a rectangular masterpiece built on a steep slope that shows dramatic harmony with nature.
Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster
Located in Shangban Village, this is the most magnificent “Four Rounds and One Square” earthen house cluster. It is recognized as a Famous Historic Cultural Village in China for its unique architectural regional system.
Yuchanglou (The Leaning Structure)
Built in 1308, this is one of the oldest existing Tulous. It is world-famous for its pillars that slant at angles up to 15 degrees. Despite this, the five-story building has remained perfectly intact for over 600 years.
Taxia Water Village
An exquisite Hakka village in a valley. Over 20 earthen buildings line a clear brook. Visit the Zhang’s Clan Ancestral Hall, a national-level cultural relic famous for the 20 stone flagpoles rising like a forest in front of its pond.
